HOW IS MARK NOT DEAD??? Last Friday, Mark walked down these stairs at 7:00am.

Unaware that THIS (mf'ing) thing had died overnight.

This was across the entire lower level.

All of the electrical items in his office were ON. And their cords were UNDER WATER.

When water meets electricity meets a human, don't people DIE?

I have no scientific answer...Your husband has not finished his purpose for sure.
Maybe your insurance company would pop for a drain in the middle of the room?
We live in an area that floods due to Levee failure every 15 to 20 years. So far we have been blessed that it has not hit us. Water is powerful and will go where it wants to go no matter what we do to stop it. I hope your family has smooth sailing for a long while. I guess you could have done that in your basement!

Some luck is still with you, Kim. Thank god.

We just had a mold clean up. Insurance doesn't cover it. It's expensive. Dry that place up completely and maybe you'll be spared.

Please tell me the circuit breaker popped or a fuse blew. Otherwise check your building code. Yikes!

NO! Robin - nothing. I mean nothing changed! The power strips are insulated? The water didn't absorb up to the outlets? I think we need an electrician! ServiceMaster is coming Monday. We'll ask them!

Kim I'm SO glad you started that post with "Mark is not dead" otherwise I would have been too scared to read on. Stuff can be replaced but your Mark? Never.

I choose to think that this is the change in your luck. You've had a string of bad (including the flood). And now you are on a string of good luck (starting with Mark not getting killed). I'm wishing you guys a long and well deserved run.

Unbelievable! I am so glad he's okay.

And the angels snicker, "Ha! He's not getting out that easy!"

Love.

Wow, Kim. I'm so glad he is okay. I hope everything is back in semi-normal order before the holidays! We're thinking about you guys!

Michelle - yes, all things holy tend to snicker at us with alarming regularity! The devil is grossly disapppointed, however. Our Life Insurance company is GREATLY relieved though!

Thanks, Leeann.

Oh my goodness! That's amazing, Kim! I'm glad Mark is OK, though to walk down into that flood may have stopped his heart momentarily. I hope things turn around for you all very soon!

Oh they'll turn around. A full 360 degrees.....

The men from Service Master (who were absolutely WONDERFUL bu the way) think Mark should be dead too. And they hardly know him!

Anonymous Elf - my goodness - you pulled off quite a trick in my own front yard! With spotlight ON no less! Did you wear tinsel to blend in??? Mark and I are so grateful. Yesterday was a hard day for me, Service Master came and I had to really really throw out all the ruined stuff. My wedding photos (framed) so many kid pictures. I know it's just "Stuff" but it hit me hard. Like my happier, younger, pre-autism days (as few as there were) were gone. Then I found a photo album I'd forgotten about - that was OK - from right out of college with so many of the people I love and loved and am still close to today, 20+ years later. I felt sadder, but better.

It's an odd season - we're supposed to be so happy and yet, there's so much emotion and baggage tied into Christmas.

Your surprise helps us to keep the faith. And to remember we have great riches, all in all.

Thank you.

KIM
