Perez Hilton has a terrific post about NAA HERE!
Please go over to his site and leave a comment thanking him for recognizing The National Autism Association! Thank you again, Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey for putting autism in the national spotlight. (Someone get Dr. Jenkins from AAP, whose recent hissy fit against parents is backfiring mightily, a Bromo, won't you?)

Yes, I saw that on my daily Perez crawl yesterday...who knew that Perez had a heart? Good of him to post, good of Jenny to bring awareness, and of course, good of you to keep the fires burning...
Drama, my agent said something that has really stuck with me - when he signed me, he said he was intrigued by my story of autism and the fight he sees me waging for our kids. He equated it to the battle over AIDS before it was "mainstream." Perhaps Perez feels similarly?
Hope Miss M is well. And Rocking Roxy. My girls are fine - in summer school and a therapy camp. Aaaaah!
It is much like the AIDS epidemic, with the politics. At least all the doctors agreed AIDS was an epidemic though.
And speaking of AIDS, one of Riley's docs told me she's seeing kids presenting these days with immune systems as fecked up as late stage AIDs patients.
Nice, huh?
Thank you Big Pharma.
When I grew up our house was clean enough with the use of hot water and soap. We were not continually ill or smitten with food poisoning. Now, for some reason, it is imperative that I continually spray my home, every nook and cranny, with chemicals strong enough to kill MRSA and 99.9% of bugs known to man.
I'm not going to be bullied into taking out a second mortgage for the privilege of living in a chemical soup. My house is clean enough to be hygienic and dirty enough to be happy and that's the way it's going to stay because that's the way we like it. No allergies, no asthma, no immune issues.
Good for Perez. That site gets thousands of hits a day and millions a month.
Good comment Amanda.
Kim, I want to thank you for commenting on my comment at the Debs' place. (I, too, am an 80s dance music freak, while hubby is the States' biggest Who fan.) It brought me here, where I have learned more about autism in 10 minutes than I'd have thought possible. I can't wait to read your novel.

Well Kalynne, if you want to know the skinny about anything in this world ask a mum who lives with it. We're the only people who know what's worth knowing and I dare say we have forgotten more than the professionals ever learn.
I just get sick of Perez doing so many stories on my sex life. Come on Perez...I dated 6 supermodels last month, not ten.
Whew! It's exhausting, fighting all of this misinformation.
LOL! When you get to "13" take a vacation! :)
