People from Harvard really ARE smart.

A poor student fell out of an 11 story window at 10:00 in the morning. Nothing to joke about there, it's someone's son and I hope he's OK.

However, the news reports "Police have been on the scene investigating, but Harvard officials called the incident an "apparent fall.""

An apparent fall? Let's see. He was on the 11th floor, then he was sprawled on the ground right below his window. Gentlemen are we in agreement on this? An "apparent fall?" Yes. OK, now we can talk to the police.

Why do I write fiction when the news is so ripe with stories??

I saw the Rick James "Superfreak" video this morning. Beyond its obvious cinematic elegance, I was blown away by the array of lovely women the popular frontman had surrounded himself with. It was one of those moments where all life's glories come raining down at once, reminding us of why we're here.

MaryJane girls were indeed a special breed, the kind you don't take home to mother.

Also the kind you rarely find at Harvard, except perhaps after midnight.

I take your word, Trish, since you are in Cambridge. And after midnight its the Simmons girls and God Forbid, the Pine Mattress girls (as we BC ladies called them) in from Chestnut Hill trolling the campus..... :)
