Is Grandma as old as America? :) Isn't is funny how the British are our closest allies now? Sorry for your Al Qaeda troubles last week.
Happy Birthday Grandma. Do you put candles into Spotted Dick with Clotted Cream? Haggis? Blood sausage? I can bake you a big Italian run cake and zip it off to you, OK? Customs won't mind a bit.
It was an interesting post and we all certainly mark those 'tiny' milestones. As for bangers and mash! Well Toad in the Hole to you all! Happy fourth. Cheers
Hello McEwen! Long time no see! You've been off on that European vacation with a nanny and a butler of course, yes? :) And my brain is on overdrive - WHORE house. Duh. Maybe I should be proud I can not spell the word?
Toad in a hole - an easy dinner in our house with Trader Joe's GF waffles!
I'm just glad to see you've not lost all conection with The Old Country!! PS Sorry to disappoint, it was a choccy sponge! PPS spotted dick is Yorkshire, clotted cream is west country Haggis (MMMM Yum!) is Scotland and black pudding (AKA Blood sausage) is different depending where you are in the UK
Hmm, it's nostalgic British Food Day, hope you don’t mind if I dribble my contribution: Jaffa Cakes, there, there, there, ahh, I miss them, and I'd probably do questionable stuff just to do my thing with a Walnut Whip.

HAPPY 4TH JULY! It's Grandma's birthday so we're celebrating too with cake and candles.

That was an awesome post! Thanks for sharing Kim. I have to get over there more often.
The British meal that always gives me a laugh is bangers and mash.
Stephen, sounds like something served at a Kentucky Bourbon hoar house! LOL! Wouldn't that be sour mash? Yee-uck.
