Backspace Agent Seminar
Are you a writer seeking a literary agent? THIS event could change your life. Your career. Your attitude. I met my agent Eric Myers at last year's event. It's worth the trip to New York. It's worth every penny. Go. Go. Go. Go. Go. Go. Go.

I've always considered going, Kim. I guess I should...thanks for the link and encouragement!:*)
Oh Demon, it is a GREAT event. First off, it's small, so you aren't lost in a huge crowd. You can ask questions of the agents. Seeing them in person really does matter. I discovered that my dream agent wasn't my dream agent at all in person. And an agent I'd never heard of, who is fantastic but keeps a lower profile than most, was the perfect fit for me. Who knew? LOL! And you kibbitz with other writers at all stages of the game. And Karen and Chris who run Backspace are just wonderful. Are you a member of Backpspace? Their forum is wonderful too. Save your pennies. It's worth it. Bring a friend and share the room expense. NYC isn't crazy expensive if you eat in regular restaurants and not the hotels. The room is pricey but you're in NY and you can soak up the writerly vibe. :)
Visiting from Manic's... and Backspace sounds wonderful! Thanks for the heads-up.
I went to Backspace at the end of May this year and it was great. This sounds wonderful. Will it matter that I won't have a finished manuscript by then or is this more for informatin sharing.
Hmmm......?
Thanks for the tip! I'll have to consider this.
Thanks, Kim. Cool. I have relatives in New York but I'd rather stay in a hotel...lol. I need to join Backspace...thanks for the great advice!:*)
Antiwife, this seminar is all about the agent process. Backspace also has their larger, longer writing event in the Spring. I don't think it matters a a fig if your MS is complete - although if you're asked for a partial by an agent (and you probably will get those requests) you'd want your full ready to go when they ask for it after having read the partial. How's that for motivation to complete your MS?
Demon, I hear you on the hotel.
Michelle, coooommme to Neewww Yooorrrk!
