I love The Algonquin hotel. Where Dorothy Parker's roundtable sits gleaming in the dining room, her memorabilia fills the bookshelves. You can smell the literary air - or maybe that's the cat who roams freely? I met my agent at an event at The Algonquin. I've dined with famous authors at The Algonquin (shout out to P and H!) Today? I'm having a late breakfast there. I. Am. Happy. Maybe I can tell you more about the day later. Off to motherly chores. My Gianna just got in my face with a beaming, "Good Morning!" A good day indeed. And it's not 6 degrees today. That helps too when you're strolling up 5th Avenue and not wearing a full length mink.

hope you have a great time - at the end of the school holidays you deserve a good time!
It's not snowing here either, which is a bad thing when all your no.1 daughter wants is DEEP SNOW!! Never mind, have sledge, can "wait for snow."
It's that big SMILE that would've probably made day, forget to Algonquin. Your kids are beyond adorable, Kim. Still, hope it was a good event; you deserve the break.
You tell Miss G "thank you" from me. I needed to hear a story like that today. I KNOW my son will talk again, even though circumstances and people (mostly everyone) tell me otherwise. I'm sure you had a fantastic time at the A. but Miss G's good morning was the better part of that story (for me!).

Oooh, Dorothy Parker! I'm so envious! It makes me want to have a martini and it's only two in the afternoon.
Sounds like a lovely time - The Algonquin is on my 'must visit' list!
The cocktail napkins (also served with coffee) read:
"I love a martini --
but two at the most.
Three I'm under the table;
Four, I'm under the host.
Is that the BEST ever?? Dorothy Parker. Wow.
Sounds like fun. I've gotten to like going to New York, too.
On the subject of the Big Apple, I have a friend who plans to visit for a weekend of shopping and frivolity to celbrate her 40th birthday - any suggestions for Must see or must do?
Amanda, EVERYTHING! :) See shows, Rockefeller Plaza, Empire State Building, museums, the roof ripped off Double Decker bus tours, the Statue of Liberty.... Saks! Bloomies! See it all and watch your Euro stretch like magic against out pathetic dollar.
Ok, she only has a weekend. I should have said was should NOT be missed - and don't say everything again because that's just going to confuse me
Saks. Empire State Building. 30 Rock. World Trade Center. And look up a lot.
