Cirque du Soleil Alegria
I took mom Mom to see Alegria by Cirque du Soleil yesterday as a surprise for her October birthday. She's always wanted to see Cirque du Soleil and there were almost in my backyard this weekend. So we went!
I'll be away to speak at two conferences, The Autism Asperger's Conference in New York City on Saturday October 3 DETAILS HERE and then the National Vaccine Injury Center Conference on vaccine awareness, parent education (it's NOT anti-vaccine) and current affairs, including Gardasil and H1N1, DETAILS HERE Conference on Sunday, October 4. So, I'll miss her October 5 birthday.
This high bar act was probably our favorite. Amazing stuff!

holy crp! that must have been INTENSE in person!!
Jess, it's unreal - even though it's in front of your eyes. You KNOW they're human but... The Chinese acrobat women bordered on completely creepy to me, to be honest. Two women who could bend themselves and hold their poses with 1 arm upside down and the legs bent over their backs - I don't know how the human spine can manage it. It's a beautiful show - probably not for small children and definitely not for my kids - certainly not Gianna who would narrate her way through the quiet elegant parts and be scared shitless when the fire baton twirlers set the floor on fire. "GET OUT! BE SAFE! GET OUT!" Nope, we'll stick to Ringling Brothers! Coming in Oct if we can swing 5 tickets - not sure about that!
MY friend is a ribbon dancer - one of those guys who hangs off of a huge ribbon?
Yeah. Trained for FOUR years.
Glad you enjoyed!
HT has the exact same outfit as those guys! I love it when he puts it on.
Next time you're in Cleveland, okay?
I have always wanted to see this! The very definition of spectacular I bet.
Have a good time at the conferences - education about vaccines is vital. Parents need to know what they're saying yes to. Even people like my SIL who is educated and sensible just trusted and said yes to everything (except MMR, that she had as separate shots) We need to encourage questions to be asked not blind faith.
ME-OW, Milonka! Mark prefers sequins - even though they itch.
