Stagtastrophe.

We interrupt this blog to bring you a new word: "stagtastrophe." Move over Murphy's law, the stagtastrophe is here. I'm not dead and buried yet though. Not by a long shot.

Landlord is not renewing lease, contrary to all indication. We have to move (again) by July 1st. And now Mark is self employed, which makes a credit check much more difficult. Ain't life grand?

Oh gosh I'm so sorry. We rented when we first arrived in the States [triplex] it was the most stressful stage of my life at that time......although come to think of it later on......

Just the first/last payment was a killer and we lost our deposit....I begin to ramble, hope you find the right niche, preferably something better right?
Best wishes

Maddy, I hope so. But we LOVE this house. It fits us like hand in glove. It felt like home the minute I moved in. I'll just wait until it goes to auction - DeadbeatDan (not his name) can't afford to hang onto it and he's so far underwater he can't see the surface, so I don't see how he can sell it either. He used the house as a giant ATM when the appraisals were high, got divorced and went bankrupt. Compared to him I feel very blessed!

Would be nice if you could get it as a fire sale - but meanwhile you still have to make a plan B. I'm sorry...

I read that strap line and immediately thought what now?

Could you not just have a couple of months with nothing going wrong?? Absolutely not wishing it on you but please don't go to Mexico, knowing your luck you'd come back with an unwanted gift!

Hang in there babe! The new owner, if not you, might want a sitting tenant....

We are operating under the same evil curse.
Be well.

Thank you for showing us what it means to truly be strong.

Oh no :( I am SO SORRY Kim. I will keep you in my prayers. This economy, it just sucks right now.

Maybe you could use some of the "big bucks" that you get from the government for your daughters being autistic (said with heavy sarcasm). Especially since you have three of them and you are SOOOO RICH.

Yes, I am royally pissed off. I saw a comment on a nurse's blog (under a post about vaccinations) from someone who said that the only reason autism looks like it is on the increase is because people are getting their badly behaved children labeled to collect SSI @@ And the nurse sure seems to have fallen for it and believes him. God, people like that make me so f'ing mad. We are a single income family of SEVEN and we do NOT qualify for SSI. Give me a break.

So sorry Kim. Let's hope the other side of this change turns out more favorable than it seems. I wish you well. And I though my situation was bad, having been kidnapped by Somali pirates (that explains my absence). I gave them the slip when they were trying to abduct for ransom some mysterious scottish troll they called Sue Sanboyle.

I have a lot of respect for you that you are so honest about your life and your situation. It is the life many parents dealing with this disorder truly lead. I have to say that I am so tired of these "autism mommy blogs" where one tries to outdo the other by claiming how wonderful their life is with autism, how their kids will magically be better if they are just loved enough, conveying how image is obviously so important to them and so on. These parents, to me, display nothing but insecurity and cluelessness. Your kids have improved with hard work and you and your husband sound like down to earth, real people.

Oh we're down to earth all right! LOL! Thanks for the nice compliment, anon. We all take the path that suits us - and that we can handle. Like anything in life, some people rise to the challenge, others collapse. Same in the autism world = overall regardless of the track we take as families or for our kids, autism parents are pretty damn amazing people. The ones who tear down or stand in the way of progress mean less than fleas on the asses of flies to me. I can sleep well at night, confident that my kids comes first. That's all that matters to me.

Oh! Word ver? Autiesq! Hmmmm.

I too love your blog, Kim. It's a breath of fresh air.

I had to come here and comment after seeing that "people get their kids labeled with autism so they can get more money" crap. I thought about you right away as you have THREE kids with autism so according to this person you should be rolling in dough and living in a mansion. But nope, you've got plenty of financial hardships.

I hate reading some of the comments about autism and the parents of autistic children on other boards. It makes me think that our message did not get across last month during autism awareness month at all :(
